The treatment is a sterile purified protein mixture made from Pythium insidiosum.

How does it work?
The treatment modifies the patient immune response from an allergic (T helper 2) response to a curative (T helper 1) response. This results in a reduction of inflammation in the first 7 days after treatment.

Are there any negative side effects?
Adverse systemic reactions have not been observed. Injection site allergic response (skin test type reaction) has been seen when the material is given intradermal. This goes away in 48-72 hours.

7-14 days- sloughing of necrotic tissue and establish of healthy granulation bed
